Scholarships
The Department of War (DoW) SMART Scholarship Program
SMART provides merit-based scholarships to bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students pursuing STEM degrees. SMART scholarship recipients receive full tuition, annual stipends, summer internships, and after graduation, civilian employment with the Department of Defense.
Eligibility requirements:
- Be a citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or United Kingdom
- Be 18 years of age or older by January 1, 2027
- Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Be currently pursuing, or intend to pursue in fall 2026, a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a SMART STEM discipline*
- Planning to attend, or enrolled in, a regionally accredited U.S. college or university
- Able to obtain and maintain a security clearance**
- Be requesting between 1-5 years of degree funding. Degree funding will start in August 2026
- Complete summer internships for awards greater than 1.5 years
- Accept a one-for-one post-graduation service commitment as a civilian employee of the Department of Defense

Great Minds in STEM (GMiS) Scholarship
The intent of the GMiS Scholars Program is to increase the persistence to graduation among underrepresented and underserved STEM college students. The financial support helps these students focus on their coursework so they can graduate on time, enter a STEM profession, continue to serve as a role model for future generations, and secure the country's place as the finest technological leader in the world.
Scholarship recipients will receive:
- A merit-based scholarship ranging in amounts from $500 to $5,000 or a non-merit-based scholarship ranging from $500 – $1,000
- Listing in the GMiS Scholars press release
Eligibility:
- Applicants must demonstrate merit through academic achievements, leadership and campus/community activities
- Applicants must be pursuing a science, technology, engineering or math degree
- Applicants must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for merit-based scholarships. Applicants may have a minimum 2.5 GPA for non-merit-based donor scholarships
- Applicants must be of Hispanic descent and/or must demonstrate significant leadership or service within the underserved community
- Applicants may be enrolled full-time or part-time at the time of application and the time of the scholarship award
- Applicants must be enrolled in a STEM or health-related undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming fall semester, at an accredited 2-yr or 4-yr college/university in the U.S. or its territories
- If you have already earned a bachelor’s degree and are seeking support for another bachelor’s degree OR you have already earned a master’s degree and are seeking support for another master’s degree OR you have already earned a doctoral degree and are seeking support for another doctoral degree, you are ineligible to apply to this scholarship program.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Scholarship Program
Scholars are selected based on merit. Award amounts range from $500 - $5,000, based on relative need.
Eligibility Requirements
- The HSF Scholar Program is open to students of all races that identify as being of Hispanic Heritage
- U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA
- Minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for high school students; minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students
- Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school, in the US
- Submit the FAFSA or state-based financial aid forms (if applicable)

The Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso has as its mission to improve access opportunities for Mexicans and individuals of Mexican origin in all educational levels in the United States of America. The IME Becas scholarship is for students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate studies offered by the 百花视频 of Texas at El Paso.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Mexican National
- 3.0+ cumulative GPA
- Overall High School GPA of at least 90 (if incoming freshman only)
- Must reside in the United States
- Must maintain full-time enrollment for Fall and Spring
- Must provide a copy of a Mexican passport or a notarized copy of a Mexican birth certificate
- PASE or FAFSA Eligible

MAES- Latinos in Science and Engineering Scholarship Program
Applicants must be MAES Student Members in good standing and registered with by the deadline date stated above.
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older by the deadline stated above.
Scholarships are open to all MAES student members meeting the membership and scholarship criteria.

NNSA Program Award for Technical and Higher-Education (PATH) Scholarships
The Program Award for Technical and Higher-Education (PATH), sponsored by National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), offers scholarships to students from Minority
Serving Institutions pursuing a technical certificate, or an associate, bachelor, or graduate degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)-discipline that supports the critical needs of the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE). The NSE has a wide array of critical needs that range from technical expertise and skilled trades to STEM research. Important research areas include nuclear security, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, engineering, and energy systems.
Benefits:
Four-Year Undergraduate Degree
- Award Per Year: $10,000
- Maximum Years of Support: 4
- Eligible degree programs: bachelor of science, bachelor of engineering, bachelor of applied science
Graduate Degree
- Award Per Year: $20,000
- Maximum Years of Support: 2
- Eligible degree programs: master of science, master of engineering and doctoral (Ph.D. or comparable) degrees

ScholarSHPE provides opportunities for:
- Graduating high school seniors beginning a STEM undergraduate career at a community college or 4-year university
- Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in STEM at any stage of their undergraduate career. Students must be enrolled full-time at a community college or 4-year university
- Students or professionals pursuing technical certificates or graduate-level professional education that increase their professional competencies with select institutions
- Graduate students pursuing a master’s or doctoral STEM degree program at an accredited university
The minimum requirements for all scholarships are as follows:
- Active SHPE Member
- Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.5 (This is a cumulative GPA as listed on the transcript of your latest academic institution.)v
- Plan to pursue a STEM degree
- Plan to enroll at an accredited two-year or four-year college/university for the academic year in the United States*

Spectrum Scholars is an educational program for eligible rising college juniors with financial need. The annual program awards college students $20,000 each, half during their junior year and half during their senior year. In addition, students are paired with a Charter mentor and have the opportunity for a paid internship with the company.
Winning students are eligible for:
- Scholarship: Scholars will receive $20,000 ($10,000 will be disbursed at the beginning of your junior year and $10,000 will be disbursed at the beginning of your senior year).
- Internship: Scholars are guaranteed a 10-week paid summer internship opportunity.
- Professional Development: Scholars will be provided with a structured engagement strategy that includes skills and career-readiness training and telecommunications industry education.
- Mentorship: Scholars will be assigned a Spectrum employee mentor to provide guidance throughout the program.

Stars Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to academically talented and highly motivated students who intend to pursue full-time undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees.
All applicants are required to meet the following criteria before applying for this scholarship:
- Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
- Be a permanent resident (5 or more consecutive years) of and have a permanent South or West Texas address in one of our 30 counties
- Have earned/completed at least 12 undergraduate credit hours at a U.S. accredited college or university before applying for the scholarship (Dual and Advanced Placement credits accepted.)
- Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
- Have completed a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to the Fall of the new academic year
- Are enrolled in a U.S. accredited 2 yr. community college (enrolled part-time or full-time) in a degree-seeking program, or
a 4yr. university undergraduate program (enrolled full-time) seeking a bachelor’s degree, or
a university graduate program (enrolled full-time) seeking a Master’s, Law or Doctorate degree
